Sports: FIFA World Cup 2018 & 2022

Those that follow the sport have known for a while now that Brazil will host the 2014 World Cup and I will be there. Just announced were the winners of not only the 2018 but the 2022 games.

Up until the last month or so England were the front runners of winning the 2018 games but a controversial investigation by their own media and newspaper outlets found that a few officials on the bid committee were willing to receive payments for the votes. Will the press destroy the press? Who cares. I just wish FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter would speak in his native language and have a translator, I hate trying to make since of his sentences. Other bidders for the 2018 games were the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain+Portugal and Russia. After England's issues came to light Russia with no surprise became front runners and that's exactly who won it. Russia the first eastern European country to host a World Cup. Get your jackets out.

Now the United States of America were(for-sight)the front runners for the 2022 games. I mean the economy is getting better, the country is embracing the sport and when we hosted the games in 1994 it was the best revenue gaining games ever and till date not to mention the great stadiums all around the country. No big controversy here to speak of except that the USA bid didn't really have the current governments backing too much. Bill Clinton can only do so much for you. The other bidders for 2022 are Australia, Korea Republic+Japan and Qatar. drum roll..... QATAR!? What? The first middle eastern country to host the World Cup, also one of the hottest regions in the world. They definitely have the wealth to build the stadiums but will they actually air condition all of their out door stadiums like they promised? I don't think I'll be attending these games. but congratulations to both nations.
