Exhibit: Sophie Bramly x 1981 & + @ 12MAIL Gallery

Could you imagine befriending some of the founding Fathers of hip hop? Not knowingly, but becoming an acquaintance with someone ,or in Sophie Bramly case, some people who intiated a movement so big, that not only has it became a culture but a way of life.  Sophie Bramly was one of the first to witness the beginnings of hip-hop in the Bronx in the early '80s, buddying up with Afrika Bambaataa, Futura, Kurtis Blow and Crazy Legs. While taking photographs of these legends in the making, Sophie created a subliminal image of their difficult routine with endless talent and energy. Sophie tells the story, introducing this rare exhibition titled “1981 & +” at the 12MAIL Gallery in Paris.

The show officially opens on June 17, 2011, running through September 2, 2011, with  limited edition book also be released during the opening.
