Art: Banksy x "Les Misérables", London (Video)

Back in September of last year, Banksy announced that his infamous Dismaland attraction would be dismantled and the parts would be relocated to refugee shelters in Calais. Following the upset Banksy revealed his depiction of Steve Jobs, as a migrant from Syria. Now finding inspiration from the Calais Jungle police assaults, Banksy delivers the "Les Misérables" on the edifice of the French Embassy in London where the two countries meet. The stenciled piece features the iconic girl from the celebrated Victor Hugo novel, Les Misérables and he shows the young figure standing in front of the French flag while tearing up as CS gas gathers around her.

This piece is a clear reference to the incident of January 5th and 6th, 2016 when French authorities used tear gas, rubber bullets and concussion grenades in efforts to clear an area in the camp. As a response to police, spokespeople are denying the use of any tear gas. To emphasize on the piece a little bit more, you'll see a QR to the left of the new art piece that will automatically redirect you to YouTube footage that proves other wise.
