Architecture: Batumi Aquarium x Henning Larsen Architects

Danish Architect firm Henning Larsen Architects has won the competition to design an aquarium in Batumi, Georgia. The firm used pebbles found on Batumi Beach as there inspiration for design, constructing a cluster of four pebbled shaped exhibitions with each exhibition representing a different marine biotypes - the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, the Indian ocean, the Black and Red seas and an interactive exhibition. The aquarium will sit in the Georgian Port of Batumi and is for sure to stand out on land or sea as an iconic rock formation. More images after jump...
