Hip Hop: The GUD Music of 2010

From the first half of the year Drake, Nicki, Wayne, Wiz, and J.Cole had the music game on lock. Songs like I'm single was the anthem for every gal and guy (even if you actually weren't single). Drake set standards for any upcoming artist trying to come up in the music game with Thank Me Later selling over 400,000 records it’s first week, even after being leaked. Nicki Minaj came in killing every track she touched then being runner up next to Kanye in album sells. J.Cole signing to Roc Nation and being the modern day Nas with the lyricism. Wiz Khalifa taking over the world with his pro marijuana music and Taylor Gang followers. Going on to kill the net with Black & Yellow (even rappers like Fabolous had to hop on the track). Then we have our generation music genius Kanye West.

Who completely took over the net with his G.O.O.D FRIDAYS bringing back the roots of hip hop and essence of the 1990s rap. Legends like Pete Rock, RZA, Mos Def, Raekwon and Jay-Z blessed the weekly drops. Never doubt Yeezy, he kept it young and fresh with upcoming artist Cyhi Da Prynce, BIG Sean, J.Cole, & Nicki (Who killed the Monster joint). Ye didn't stop there he continued to win with his releases of short film RUNAWAY, the best album of the year My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and so politely taking over twitter. Let's not forget Kanye also brought a much needed glow to a very talented underrated hip hop artist by the name of Pusha T. Yes, Pusha T made his mark in 2010 alone by rocking that so classy salmon colored blazer at the 2010 MTV Music Awards and spitting a classic verse. We expect nothing less than greatness from them all in 2011, meanwhile our ears and eyes are watching upcoming artist Mike Jaggerr, Curren$y, Kendrick Lamar, & BIG K.R.I.T may they bless us with GUD music in 2011!
