The Black Power Mixtape 1965-1975 is a rich tapestry of 16mm footage shot by Swedish filmmakers during one of the most pivotal eras in American history. The documentary, which is slated to hit theaters this Friday, features candid interviews from some of the eras most influential revolutionaries such as Angela Davis, Stokely Carmichael, Bobby Seale and Kathleen Cleaver. Music by Questlove and Om'Mas Keith along with modern commentary from the likes of Erykah Badu, Harry Belafonte, Talib Kweli and Melvin Van Peebles gives the historical footage a fresh sound and makes this film a must-see!
