NikeLab Presents 'The Nature of Motion' Short Film

An inside look at how Nike’s design collective finds new solutions for athletes.

A t this year's Milano Design Week, Nike will present its exhibition The Nature of Motion. As part of the exhibit, Nike will showcase some its talented and creative minds from their footwear design teams, as they have accepted a challenge to explore the future of natural motion by creating artistic and at times abstract footwear pieces.

The team's efforts were to explore and resolve a common issue for runners who would like a shoe that mimics their foot’s natural motion. While looking for "the sensation of running," designers created obscure and inventive prototypes ranging from foam-like structures to silhouettes with pine-like needles. The exhibit is will usher in the Nike Free RN Flyknit with an exclusive release in honor of Milan’s dedication to sport.
