The adidas Tubular Invader is probably a Tubular model you've overlooked being there were so many releasing at the time. It could be possible, you didn't associate it with the Tubular family since it didn't boast the traditional Tubular look we're used to seeing. However, lets take a closer look at the forgotten adidas Tubular Invader.

Delivered in a mid cut version, the Tubular Invader takes cues from retro basketball silhouettes while using a mix of materials on the upper. Suede dominates the upper which can also be seen on the tongue while a knit material wraps the heel up to the collar. Leather constructs the lining as rubber hits the branding heel tab finishes the upper. Perforations can be seen on the toe cap as well as the three stripes branding. Unlike other Tubular models we've seen from the German-based, a reworked tube-inspired EVA midsole with moulded ripple-edge detailing on land on the rear of the foot.
